It's in the media nearly every day. Some article about why we should hate the President. How he's done or said something outlandish or imbasilic. He's certainly no saint. The hate from some people is downright disturbing. It doesn't matter what he does or doesn't do, there is some new reason to hate him, nearly, every, day. "He's not my president," has become a common vernacular.
If anyone had said ANYthing half as negative about former president Obama, the race card was played or something similar. What happened to the days when once a president was sworn in, we all came back together as a nation and were all simply Americans. Not from this or that political group. But Americans!
"Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:"
-Jesus Christ
"A house divided against itself, cannot stand."
-Abraham Lincoln
No human is perfect, there never will be a perfect leader. But, if we can come together as a people, with love in our hearts towards one another, we cannot fail.
I understand there is a level of corruption in every government. Perhaps we could minimize that corruption if we start with baby steps. Start by changing our hearts by praying for our leaders to make the right decisions. Hate and anger do not come from God. And if you don't believe in God, then the devil is winning.
"The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist", a line borrowed from Charles Baudelaire. Because if he exists, it proves God exists.
Then perhaps we can weed out the corruption by voting and following the impression that comes to our hearts when we sincerely take it to God in prayer.
It's just my opinion, but term limits for ALL political positions should be implemented. All our leaders should go back to their career after their term of service is up.
